Meet Katie

Before joining HSU, Katie worked within the NHS for over 15 years, where she specialised in neurology and stroke rehabilitation. During this time, she worked across many aspects of healthcare, including intensive care, acute hospital wards, rehabilitation units, outpatient services, and community-based care. She also established the Early Supported Discharge Service for Stroke across the New Forest.

Following her NHS career, Katie worked in private practice, supporting people with rehabilitation after hospital discharge across residential, community, and outpatient settings.

Katie has a specialist interest in neurological rehabilitation and works with people living with conditions including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury (TBI), functional neurological disorder (FND), balance disorders, weakness, frailty, and sarcopenia. Her clinical focus includes stroke rehabilitation, longer-term goal-based rehabilitation, functional electrical stimulation, and neurotechnology.

Patients seeing Katie can expect a thorough and holistic assessment, with time taken to understand their individual challenges, priorities, and goals. She works collaboratively with patients to explore the best way forward, supporting informed decision-making and helping them identify realistic, meaningful goals. Her approach is highly practical, focusing on real-world application, problem-solving barriers to progress, and maintaining motivation throughout rehabilitation.
