How our Pain Management Clinic works
Our Pain Management Clinic based in Bournemouth, Dorset, brings together specialist assessment, advanced diagnostics, image-guided treatments and rehabilitation support to manage persistent pain. The service has two integrated parts:
1. Initial Consultation in our Pain Management Clinic
Led by Dr Khalid Alaib, our Pain Management Clinic provides a detailed assessment of your symptoms, medical history, previous treatments and any existing imaging or investigations. If required, you may be referred for further diagnostic imaging to help guide your treatment.
Following your assessment, we’ll discuss the most appropriate options for you, leading to a personalised treatment plan. This may include image-guided injections, rehabilitation or other specialist procedures where clinically appropriate.
2. Advanced Interventions & Diagnostics
Led by Dr Laith Al-Obaidi, our image-guided injection service provides precision-guided pain procedures, including ultrasound-guided injections, fluoroscopy-guided spinal injections, nerve root blocks, medial branch blocks, facet joint injections, sacroiliac joint injections and caudal epidural injections, where clinically appropriate. The choice of procedure depends on your personalised treatment plan.
Treatments are supported by our wider multidisciplinary team, including rehabilitation specialists, to help reduce pain, improve function and support your recovery.
