On July 10th, we hosted an evening dedicated to health and well-being at our Integrated Rehabilitation Centre. Attendees enjoyed expert advice, interactive demonstrations, and valuable resources, including:
This event was held out in our local community in the Bournemouth Arts Depot in Boscombe. With support from local partners including, BEAF, Help & Care, CAN and Healthwatch we welcomed over 500 people, many of whom were not currently engaged in healthcare services. Over the two weeks, we provided health checks, ultrasound scans, dietary advice, foot checks and musculoskeletal triage (assessing muscle or joint problems), as well as providing mental health services, lifestyle guidance, and social care support via our collaborating partners.
This particular event saw members of local running clubs and avid athletes attend to hear more about injury prevention, rehabilitation and our high performance services. We heard from Physiologist and Sport Scientist Phillip Heritage about the impressive testing and analysis services on offer at HSU.
This event had a specific focus on older adults and the concerns we have as we age. We heard from Neurological Physiotherapist Katie Bright about aging well, improving balance and living confident and independent lives. Attendees we’re able to learn about the specialist classes, 1-2-1’s and rehabilitation equipment we have available to access.
