Meet Francesca
Francesca graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the Federico II University in Naples before beginning her career in the NHS as a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist, gaining experience across a wide range of clinical settings. She later progressed into a Band 6 role specialising in outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Alongside her NHS career, she has worked extensively in private practice and within elite football clubs, where she developed a strong clinical interest in sports injury recovery and high-performance athletic function.
She also completed APPI Pilates Level 2 certification, enabling her to incorporate dynamic, weight-bearing Clinical Pilates into rehabilitation programmes to improve functional movement, core stability, and strength.
Francesca has developed a particular interest in sports injury management and lower limb rehabilitation, including ACL reconstruction, hamstring injuries, knee and ankle tendinopathies, patellofemoral pain syndrome, Achilles tendinopathy, greater trochanteric pain syndrome (GTPS), and stress fractures. She has a specialist interest in combining Clinical Pilates with evidence-based rehabilitation to address biomechanical imbalances, improve movement quality, and safely guide people back to sport and everyday activities.
Francesca takes an empathetic, collaborative, and evidence-based approach to rehabilitation. Every assessment looks beyond the symptomatic area to identify the underlying biomechanical factors that may be contributing to a person’s symptoms, helping to create an individualised and highly structured rehabilitation pathway. She encourages patients to play an active role in their recovery and, as part of HSU’s multidisciplinary team, can seamlessly access specialist services including Shockwave Therapy, Private Fast-Track Imaging, Body Composition Analysis, and the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill when appropriate, ensuring patients receive the right support throughout their rehabilitation.
