Meet Tish

Meet Letitia ‘Tish’ Rutherford, our Sports Rehabilitation Lead. Tish brings over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality rehabilitation to patients in both the NHS and private sector, as well as supporting athletes in the UK and the US.

Tish graduated from the University of Chichester with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy and is a Member of the Society of Sports Therapists (MSST). She has worked across a wide range of clinical and sporting environments, including 10 years in football supporting professional and semi-professional players.

She went on to run her own health, fitness, and rehabilitation business in Dorset before moving to the United States, where she worked with both athletes and the general population. On returning to the UK, she worked within NHS and private rehabilitation services as an exercise and rehabilitation professional.

For the past three years, Letitia has been Lead Sports Rehabilitator at HSU, where she has helped develop and deliver rehabilitation services within the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre. Alongside this, she also works as an Associate Lecturer in higher education, supporting the development of future rehabilitation professionals.

Tish has a specialist interest in sports injuries, injury prevention, sports-specific rehabilitation, return to sport, pre- and post-operative rehabilitation, and elderly rehabilitation. She also has experience in Pilates reformer-based rehabilitation and is passionate about improving access to exercise and rehabilitation for underrepresented groups.

Patients seeing Tish can expect a welcoming, supportive, and motivating environment. Assessment includes a detailed evaluation of movement, strength, and function, alongside hands-on treatment where appropriate and a tailored exercise programme. Care is evidence-based and fully individualised, with a clear focus on personal goals, whether returning to sport, improving daily function, or building long-term confidence in movement. Patients are actively supported and guided throughout their rehabilitation journey.
