During your appointment, Mr. Muthian will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms in depth, and may suggest imaging or other diagnostic tests to support a precise diagnosis.
Here’s how the process typically works:
Initial Consultation – You’ll meet with Mr. Muthian to discuss your concerns. This consultation allows him to fully understand your needs and recommend next steps tailored to you.
Diagnostic Imaging – If further clarity is needed, Mr. Muthian may request imaging (such as X-rays, ultrasound, or MRI) this can be done on-site via our state-of-the-art Clinical Imaging Services.
Discuss Treatment Options – You’ll have the chance to review treatment options such as targeted injections or a rehabilitation programme to manage symptoms and improve strength, depending on your diagnosis.
Consider Surgical Options – If surgery is recommended, Mr. Muthian will discuss your options in detail. If surgery is considered the best route, you can opt for a private pathway or, if preferred, take the referral back to your GP.
Rehabilitation Programmes – Based on your condition, you might be recommended a rehabilitation or pre-habilitation programme, including health assessments and exercise plans to enhance outcomes if surgery is pursued.

Meet Mr. Senthil Muthian
Mr Muthian is a highly regarded Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, with a specialism in upper limb conditions and trauma. He can offer opinions on all types of orthopaedic interventions and his qualifications include:
- MBBS, MS (Ortho), D.NB (Ortho)
- MRCSEd, FRCSEd (Trauma & Ortho)
- Completed his orthopaedic training at the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London
- Herbert Seddon Travelling Fellowship in Shoulder Surgery
Mr. Muthian’s clinical interests include treating shoulder disorders (such as fractures, rotator cuff tears, and arthritis), elbow conditions (including instability, tendon ruptures, and tennis elbow), and common hand issues like carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and Dupuytren’s contracture. He also actively contributes to the education of future orthopaedic specialists through teaching engagements at Bournemouth University, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and University College London.
