'Get active' is an initiative at Health Sciences University, funded by Active Dorset’s Together Fund. These sessions include a 1-2-1 with our highly qualified sports rehabilitator followed by 3 sessions in our Integrated Rehabilitation Centre. Gain access to high quality health care advice and be supported to make positive changes to your lifestyle.

About ‘Get Active’

Get Active is an initiative at Health Sciences University aimed at promoting physical activity and wellbeing for all members of our community. Thanks to funding from Active Dorset’s Together Fund, we are able to offer tailored exercise sessions to those who may have limited access to quality healthcare or exercise facilities.

If you are looking to make positive changes to your lifestyle and improve your mental and physical wellbeing, talk to your GP, or healthcare professional about our Get Active exercise sessions.

How to Participate

To get started with ‘Get Active’, simply follow these steps:

  1. Obtain a Voucher: Speak to your GP or healthcare professional to receive a voucher for ‘Get Active’ sessions.
  2. Book Your Sessions: Once you have your voucher, you can book your initial 1-2-1 health assessment with our sports rehabilitator. This assessment will help us understand your needs and goals, allowing us to create a personalised exercise program for you.
  3. Attend Your Sessions: After your assessment, you will receive three exercise sessions in our rehabilitation centre. These sessions are accompanied by our sports rehabilitator, who will provide support and guidance as you work through your program.
