What to Expect From Your Visit to Our Student Chiropractic Clinic

Our student chiropractors are in the final years of their Master’s degrees and work under the guidance of experienced clinical tutors, who oversee your care throughout the treatment process. This ensures you receive thorough, patient-centred care. Whether you’re seeking treatment for musculoskeletal pain, posture correction, or injury recovery, our students are equipped to support your needs in a professional, comfortable environment.

 

Thorough Student Chiropractic Care

1. New Patient Assessment

A comprehensive initial assessment of your symptoms, lifestyle, and medical history. This is done by one of our student chiropractors and overseen by an experienced tutor to ensure all aspects of your care are thoroughly considered.

  • Duration: Up to 90 minutes | Cost: £27.50

2. Report of Findings

A follow up session to report back on your assessment and present your personalised care plan. This session may also be used to start your care-plan/ provide treatment.

  • Duration: Up to 30 minutes | Cost: £20

3. Treatment Session

Ongoing chiropractic care based on your treatment plan. This may involved hands-on physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, mobilisation and other techniques to help you move forward in your care and progress with your plan.

  • Duration: Up to 30 minutes | Cost: £20

What is the Student Chiropractic Clinic at Health Sciences University?

The Student Chiropractic Clinic at Health Sciences University is one of our Student Clinics. In this supervised healthcare setting, final-year chiropractic students treat patients as part of their clinical training. All treatments are overseen by fully qualified, experienced chiropractors to ensure patient safety and care standards are maintained.

Who will I be seen by?

You will be treated by a final-year chiropractic student, who will be supervised by one of our qualified, experienced chiropractors. This ensures you receive expert care at a reduced cost.

What's the difference between the Student Chiropractic Clinic and the Main Chiropractic Clinic?

The Student Chiropractic Clinic offers affordable chiropractic care provided by master’s-level chiropractic students under the supervision of experienced, qualified chiropractors. This is a cost-effective option for those seeking treatment at a reduced rate. Students have extensive training and experience and are overseen by highly qualified clinical tutors throughout your treatment.

In contrast, the Main Chiropractic Clinic is staffed by fully qualified, GCC-registered chiropractors with years of clinical experience. If you’re looking for more specialised or immediate care, or prefer treatment from a fully qualified chiropractor, this clinic is for you. Both clinics provide excellent care, but the Student Clinic is ideal for those seeking affordable options, while the Main Clinic is best for those who want to see a qualified practitioner directly.

Do you have parking?

There is free parking available onsite with designated disabled bays too. Please follow the signage to car park 2. For more information you can also head to our How to Find Us page

Can I bring a relative/ friend?

You may be accompanied by a friend, family member or carer. Please let us know ahead of time so we can make the necessary steps. If reception is busy, we may have to ask your companion to wait in the car or in the college refectory where refreshments can be purchased, if they are not accompanying you in your appointment.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Yes, we are fully wheelchair accessible in the Chiropractic clinic. If you have any special requirements, you can always let us know before you arrive. We will do our utmost to support your requests.

How long will my first appointment be?

Please allow 90 minutes for your first appointment, to give us plenty of time to make sure we have all the information we need to be able to provide you with the best possible care.

What is the Friends of the Clinic (FOC) hardship fund?

This hardship fund allows for up to 6 free treatments with a placement student at our chiropractic clinic, to help those who don’t have the means to fund their own care.

To be eligible for the fund you will need to be in receipt of NHS prescriptions and be claiming one of the following benefits:

  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Universal Credit
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Income-related Employment & Support Allowance
  • Personal Independence payment
  • Careers allowance
  • Children in receipt of Disability living allowance for children

This fund has been created by our Friends of the Clinic group. If you visit us using this fund please consider contributing a donation to keep the fund going, and/or contributing to our students’ learning via feedback session/class talk.

Do you accept cash payments?

We are an entirely cash free campus. Our Clinical and Rehabilitation Services do not accept cash payments.
