What is Sarcopenia?

Understanding Muscle Loss in Aging Adults

As we age, we experience a natural decline in muscle mass and strength. This decline is known as sarcopenia and gradually starts in our 30s or 40s.

Sarcopenia can impact independence, mobility, and overall well-being, but through targeted interventions, it is possible to slow down its progression and even reverse some of the effects.

There are several steps you can take to slow the effects of sarcopenia, one of the most effective is increasing your overall strength. Strength training doesn’t have to mean lots of heavy lifting in the gym! Studies show that introducing simple exercises to your routine can make a significant impact to your confidence, your daily activities and your overall wellbeing.
